Supporting young people through sport
We sponsor the Gedling and Sherwood Cricket Club youth team, helping local young people enjoy sport together. This year we have increased our level of sponsorship to include the team shirts.
Supporting local businesses
We always use local businesses to provide services for our offices, such as our IT and phone systems, building maintenance and professional services
Where possible we use professional services local to our clients when arranging finance, to help support their local communities in turn.
Supporting the local community
Paul is a Governor at a junior school in our area. He first took the role up as a parent when his children attend the school, he was then asked to stay on as a community governor and is now in his 7th year on the committee. Paul enjoys his time working with the staff at the school and Roxanne also enjoys volunteering there to support on trips and in the classroom as needed.
Supporting UK business growth and newcomers to our industry
We strive to support new entrants to the funding side of the market, helping them develop new products and ensuring local SMEs often have first access to this funding, which can be harder for some to secure through mainstream providers.
Paul volunteers his time – supported by the wider Goodman team – to act as Chair of the National Association of Corporate Finance Brokers. Through this role he works to promote the future of the industry and growing UK businesses, as well as the training and education available for people entering corporate finance.
We also have recently taken on sponsorship of a local rider, Rachael Jayne Barker and one of her horses “Goodman’s Gift”. Rachael is one of the most well respected and successful specialists and riders in the area and she is a fully qualified McTimoney Practitioner and saddle fitter in the East Midlands. After completing her Masters Degree in 2013, started her own business Optimal Equine.
You can follow her updates and read all about their adventures on our special page here
